Catch-up bookkeeping / Adelaide
Catch-up bookkeeping.
A clear way forward.
srwn Accounting & Advisory helps Adelaide businesses catch up overdue bookkeeping in Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks. We work through missing months, match bank and card records, and prepare a clear handover for your accountant. Start with the records you have; we agree the plan and fee before work begins.

Work out what is actually behind
The latest transaction in the file may not be the last month that was checked. We compare the books, bank statements and earlier reports to find a reliable starting point. We list the accounts and periods to review, including any records still held by a previous provider.
Recover the missing pieces
We identify missing statements, invoices, bills and payment reports. A short request list helps you find them without sorting everything at once. Payments with unclear details stay on a question list until there is enough information; we do not create documents or guess a tax treatment.
Leave a clear handover
You receive the agreed reconciled periods, supporting reports and a list of items still open. If earlier returns or opening balances may need changes, we refer those questions to your registered adviser. The handover shows what is complete and what needs a decision next.
The work we can take on
What’s included
We agree the work around your business, your records and the support you need.
srwn is your main contact for bookkeeping, reports and business finances. BAS means business activity statement. Registered partners handle BAS and tax services. We can also work with your existing tax agent.
- Bank and credit card reconciliation
- Compare each agreed account with its statements month by month. Check transfers, payment fees, gaps and duplicates rather than treating every deposit as new income.
- Invoice and bill recovery
- List the sales records and supplier documents that are missing. Match receipts and payments, and review older unpaid amounts with you.
- Opening balance review
- Compare starting balances with the available prior reports. Flag differences for the appropriate adviser instead of using an unexplained adjustment to make the file balance.
- Records for overdue BAS or year-end work
- Prepare the agreed bookkeeping reports and supporting documents. Your registered partner or existing tax agent decides tax treatment, prepares returns and handles any amendments or lodgement.
A clear catch-up plan
Take it one period at a time.
A useful quote names the periods, accounts and outputs. It also explains the information we need from you, the questions for your tax adviser and any separate costs.
- Confirm the starting point
- Share the last period checked by you or your accountant. Let us know if any earlier statements, reports or software access are missing.
- Agree the order of work
- We consider upcoming deadlines and how older balances affect later months. Timing depends on the size of the backlog and the records available.
- Set a manageable next routine
- Choose how to collect receipts, check accounts and review the month ahead. A small regular routine helps prevent the same backlog returning.
For your free review, tell us the software, number of overdue months and next deadline. You can start with a general description rather than sending financial documents through the public form.

A clear plan from the start.
Show us where things stand
We'll check your software, accounts and how many entries you record. We'll also review payroll and any months that need catching up.
Know what you're paying for
We'll confirm the work and fixed fee in writing, and tell you which records to provide.
Keep the books current
Each month, we check your books and answer questions. Your records are then ready for reports or your partner's BAS work.
Before we start
Your questions, answered.
Do I have to sort everything before I contact you?
No. Tell us what you have, which software you use and when the books were last checked. We will work out the next steps with you.
What if I use spreadsheets or have paper records?
We can review the records and agree a suitable plan. If a move into accounting software is needed, the setup and transfer work will be identified in the quote.
Can you finish before my next BAS deadline?
We first need to review the period, record quality and missing information. Tell us the deadline early. We agree what can be completed and coordinate with the registered adviser handling your BAS.
Can catch-up work change a return already lodged?
It can reveal information that your registered adviser needs to review. We flag those items and agree how earlier periods will be handled before making changes that affect lodged figures.
Can I use you just for the catch-up?
Yes. A one-off catch-up can end with a handover to you or your accountant. Ongoing bookkeeping is a separate choice and can be quoted if you want help staying current.
