Hospitality and retail bookkeeping / Adelaide
Busy days.
Clearer numbers.
Bookkeeping for Adelaide cafés, restaurants and shops. We match point-of-sale records, refunds and payment fees to the money reaching your bank. Monthly reports help you understand wages, supplier costs and what is left after a busy month.
An Adelaide practice led by management accountant Pargat Sandhu. Meet your accountant
Match sales to bank deposits
A card deposit may include several days of sales, less fees and refunds. We compare the point-of-sale totals, settlement reports and bank entries. Differences are investigated rather than entered as extra sales.
See the effect of wages and supplies
Compare wages and supplier costs with sales over the same period. We agree the definitions and account for timing differences. Your own results and operating model guide the discussion, not a made-up industry target.
Prepare for quieter weeks
Rent, wages and supplier bills continue when trade slows. We help you look ahead at expected receipts and commitments so seasonal changes are easier to plan around.
The work we can take on
What’s included
We agree the work around your business, your records and the support you need.
srwn is your main contact for bookkeeping, reports and business finances. BAS means business activity statement. Registered partners handle BAS and tax services. We can also work with your existing tax agent.
- POS and merchant settlements
- Review agreed sales channels, delivery-platform reports, refunds and fees. Match their settlements to bank receipts.
- Supplier bills and stock records
- Keep purchase records organised and unpaid bills visible. Agree how stock information is supplied and reflected in management reports.
- Payroll records
- Organise the agreed wage and payroll information. Employment classifications and regulated obligations remain with the relevant adviser or registered provider.
- Monthly reporting
- Review sales, costs, unpaid bills and cash movements. Separate comparable trading results from one-off items where the data allows.
Your bookkeeping routine
Make the sales records easier to follow.
We agree which sales channels, accounts and reports are included. Catch-up work, additional locations and reporting needs are identified in the quote.
- Capture each sales channel
- Keep point-of-sale, cash, online and delivery-platform totals available. Avoid counting the same sale again when the bank deposit arrives.
- Review the same period
- Sales and wage costs need a comparable period. Note holidays, changed hours or missing stock information when reading a result.
- Look at upcoming payments
- Bring rent, supplier bills and wage commitments into a cash view. Agree which reports you want to review each month.
Tell us the type of venue or shop, number of locations, POS system and accounting software. We will work out the next step with you.

Show us where things stand
We'll check your software, accounts and how many entries you record. We'll also review payroll and any months that need catching up.
Know what you're paying for
We'll confirm the work and fixed fee in writing, and tell you which records to provide.
Keep the books current
Each month, we check your books and answer questions. Your records are then ready for reports or your partner's BAS work.
Before we start
Your questions, answered.
Can you work with our existing POS?
We first review its exports and settlement reports. We can agree a suitable process before promising a direct integration or recommending a new tool.
Why is a card deposit lower than the sales total?
Settlement timing, merchant fees, refunds and other adjustments can explain the difference. We check the underlying reports before deciding how to record it.
Will you tell us the right wage or food-cost percentage?
We can help calculate and review your own ratios. A useful target depends on your business model, trading hours and what is included in the calculation.
