Bring the changes together
Agree a cut-off for approved timesheets, leave, new starters and changes to pay details. A clear input list reduces last-minute questions. We use the information and written instructions you or the relevant adviser approve, and flag gaps before the pay run moves forward.
Check before approval
Compare the current records with the previous pay cycle and identify unusual changes. Review leave balances and agreed payment records, with questions returned to the right person. Payroll work involving tax interpretation or reporting is allocated to a registered provider; employment and award advice stays with your employment adviser.
Connect payroll with the books
After the approved pay run, compare payroll summaries with bank payments and the accounts. Keep unpaid or unexplained amounts visible. A monthly view helps you understand wage costs and plan the cash needed for the next pay cycle.
The work we can take on
What’s included
We agree the work around your business, your records and the support you need.
srwn is your main contact for bookkeeping, reports and business finances. BAS means business activity statement. Registered partners handle BAS and tax services. We can also work with your existing tax agent.
- Employee and pay-cycle records
- Organise approved employee details, timesheets, leave requests and pay dates. Agree a secure way to share staff information and who can access it.
- Pay-run preparation support
- Collect and check the agreed inputs for the responsible payroll provider. Document the approval point and how corrections are raised before or after payment.
- Leave and super records
- Compare recorded leave movements and approved balances. Track super amounts recorded in payroll against available payment evidence, and flag differences for the relevant provider.
- STP and registered-provider handover
- Single Touch Payroll sends payroll information to the tax office. Registered partners handle that reporting. We prepare the agreed records and keep responsibility for reporting clear.
Before the next pay run
A process your team can follow.
Payroll works best when the handovers are clear. We agree the inputs, checks and approvals around your pay dates, with regulated work assigned to the appropriate provider.
- Set a cut-off
- Choose when approved timesheets and changes must arrive. Decide who answers questions if information is missing or arrives late.
- Name the approver
- Keep a clear person responsible for confirming the pay run. Agree how unusual items, new staff and final payments are reviewed.
- Keep the month in view
- Review wage costs, payroll balances and upcoming payment commitments together. Your registered adviser confirms any relevant tax or super obligations.
Tell us the number of staff, your pay cycle, payroll software and the part that needs support. Leave employee tax file numbers and bank details out of the public enquiry form.

A clear plan from the start.
Understand your pay cycle
We'll check pay dates, software and employee records. We'll agree who sends the information and who approves payroll.
Agree the checks
We'll agree how timesheets, pay changes and unusual items are checked before each pay run.
Prepare payroll and update the books
We complete the agreed payroll and reporting work. We then check that your books show the same figures.
Before we start
Your questions, answered.
Can you help a small team?
Yes. The scope depends on your staff numbers, pay cycle, software and records. We agree the tasks and fee in writing before starting.
Who approves and releases employee payments?
Your business approves the pay run and retains payment authority. The written process explains who supplies information, checks it, approves payroll and releases money.
Do you decide award rates or employment classifications?
No. Your employment adviser should confirm contracts, awards, classifications and entitlements. We work from the approved information and refer unclear items for review.
Who handles STP and payroll tax interpretation?
Registered partners or your existing registered provider handle STP and payroll tasks that involve interpreting or applying tax law. We agree that responsibility before work begins.
Can you help when payroll and the accounts do not match?
We can compare the agreed payroll summaries, payments and accounting balances. Differences are listed for review, with corrections referred to the person responsible for that part of the work.
