Power BI financial reporting / Adelaide
Reports built around
your decisions.
Turn accounting data and spreadsheets into financial reports you can use. We help Adelaide businesses compare results, track costs and understand cash flow with Power BI, Excel and Power Query. Start with the questions your reports need to answer.

Agree what each number means
Sales, margin and cash can mean different things in different reports. We agree the definitions, reporting period and source data before building charts. Your team can understand how a figure was calculated.
Check the data before the dashboard
We review spreadsheet structure, account mapping and missing entries. Power Query can help clean repeat imports. We compare totals with the accounting reports so a polished chart does not hide a data problem.
Make the report usable each month
We agree who can view the report, how data is refreshed and who looks after it. Where appropriate, Power Automate or Microsoft Fabric can support the wider process. The setup depends on your systems and licences.
The work we can take on
What’s included
We agree the work around your business, your records and the support you need.
srwn is your main contact for bookkeeping, reports and business finances. BAS means business activity statement. Registered partners handle BAS and tax services. We can also work with your existing tax agent.
- Management report design
- Profit and loss, budget comparisons, cash movements and measures that matter to your business. The scope defines the pages and level of detail.
- Data preparation and checks
- Review exports, account categories and reporting periods. Reconcile agreed totals and document important assumptions.
- Refresh and sharing plan
- Agree a practical update schedule and access controls. Connector, gateway, Microsoft licensing and IT work are reviewed before the build.
- Handover and ongoing support
- Explain how to use the report and what to do when a source changes. Agree whether monthly support is part of the project or a separate service.
Planning your report
Define the report before building it.
A useful reporting project begins with decisions, not a list of charts. We confirm the data sources, report pages, checks, refresh approach and support in the quote.
- Your questions
- For example: which jobs are making money, why costs changed, or how this month compares with the budget. Choose a small number of useful measures first.
- Your sources
- Tell us which accounting system, spreadsheets and other tools hold the figures. We review the available export or connection before promising an integration.
- Your users
- Agree who needs access and what each person should see. Sharing and security are part of the design, rather than an afterthought.
For the free review, describe the report you use today, what takes time and which decision is still hard to make. You can start without sharing confidential data.

Tell us what you want to know
Tell us what you want to understand. Your costs may be rising, or your profit may not match the money in the bank.
Check the books can support it
We'll check your books and balances at the end of the month. We'll point out records that need fixing before we prepare reports.
Talk through the month
We prepare the reports and explain the main changes, including anything worth following up.
Before we start
Your questions, answered.
Can you start with Excel rather than a complex system?
Yes. A reliable spreadsheet or accounting export can be a useful starting point. We recommend the simplest setup that meets the agreed reporting needs.
Does this include Microsoft software licences?
Licences, connectors and infrastructure are checked separately. We explain any required third-party costs before you decide. A Microsoft Fabric setup is not needed for every report.
Will the dashboard update in real time?
Not automatically. Refresh depends on your data sources, connection method, licences and agreed schedule. The report should make its data period and last update clear.
Can you work with our existing accountant or IT team?
Yes. We can agree the financial definitions with your accountant and the access and refresh setup with your IT team. We do not need to replace either.
