01

See what changed

Monthly reports show changes in sales, costs and money in the bank. You can see what needs your attention. Where a dashboard suits the work, explore our Power BI financial reporting.

02

Plan the next step

A cash-flow forecast estimates money coming in and going out. We use it to compare hiring, purchases and growth plans before you decide. We also check when you may need the money.

03

Work through decisions

We meet regularly to discuss the numbers. We agree what needs doing first and write down the next steps.

A report, made useful

More than a list
of numbers.

Your reports should answer useful questions. How much did the business earn this month? What were the costs? What money came in and went out?

  1. See what is left from your sales.

The cost of sales is the cost of the goods or services you sell. After taking this away, 65% of sales income is left in this example. This is the gross margin. It still needs to cover the other costs of running the business.

  2. Read profit and cash together.

Profit is income minus costs. Your bank balance changes as money comes in and goes out. Looking at both helps you ask useful questions.

Choosing your support

What help does your business need?

CFO stands for chief financial officer. Virtual CFO support can help if you need regular help with finances but do not need to hire someone full time. We start with your decisions. We agree which reports you need, how much detail to include and how often to meet.

Bookkeeping or Virtual CFO?
Bookkeeping keeps your records up to date. Virtual CFO support uses these records to check business results, plan cash flow and discuss decisions. We can work with your bookkeeper or agree bookkeeping support separately.
A decision to work through
Hiring, buying equipment or waiting longer for customer payments changes how much cash you need. We compare the figures and explain what each plan is based on. We write down the next steps we agree with you.
An agreed ongoing fee
Your quote depends on the businesses involved, the report detail, how far ahead we plan and how often we meet. We confirm what is included. We discuss any changes before extra work begins.

For your free first review, tell us which decision you need help with, which reports you have and whether your books are up to date. We will explain whether reports, bookkeeping or regular Virtual CFO support would help.

Before we start

Your questions, answered.

Can you work with our existing bookkeeper?

Yes. Your bookkeeper can keep looking after the accounts. We'll check that the records have enough detail for reports and forecasts.

How often would we meet?

Usually once a month. We'll agree how often to meet and any extra reviews before we start.

Can this help if I run my own business?

It can help when you need regular finance support without a full-time chief financial officer. We'll discuss whether this suits your business.

How is Virtual CFO support priced?

The fee depends on the businesses involved, your reports, forecast detail and how often we meet. We'll confirm the work and fixed fee in writing before we start.
